Cartier, the T.K.O. Way

Ever fantasized about having something special (and pricey) that you always say to yourself, “I’ll buy this when I’m older”? That dream for me was the Cartier Love bracelet. I have seen them on celebrities and rich long island mothers alike, and absolutely love the iconic piece. Until I recently learned of the price…

Yea that’s right. For those of you who were as clueless as me, the starting price for these babies is 5k. INSANE. To think I would ever spend that much money on something I can’t live in or drive is just unheard of.

But given my current job position at a local boutique on Long Island, we often do a lot of our jewelry buying in the wholesale district of Manhattan. This consists of walking around numerous warehouses with slat walls filled with thousands of necklaces, bracelets, rings, etc of which we select a few of each product to bring back into our stores. The markup on these things is outrageous, but we try to keep on the lower price side.

I was lucky enough to snatch this total knockoff, which is about .0016143 of the price of the real one.

This stainless steel “rose gold” copy of the Cartier Love Bracelet was an amazing $8.75 folks! I mean talk about a serious bargain. Yes, it does not exactly look like the real one, but knowing me I would not be able to handle wearing something so valuable without keeping my arm above my head and hoping it doesn’t get scratched. With this, I get the effect and feel of the look, without the heart attack.

Paired with my rose gold Marc By Marc Jacobs watch, and another rose gold bangle, I’ve got a seriously stylish and affordable arm party that doesn’t make me feel super guilty about wearing.

………But if anyone is looking for a valentine’s gift for me, I’d love the real thing!
